When I first met Celeste and Max, I was convinced they had just stepped directly out of a J Crew catalogue. Before we even started talking about their wedding design I knew they would have impeccable taste. Needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed. It was so fun to work together to create a wedding style that was a reflection of their personalties… thoughtful, romantic, organic and free spirited. The result was a modern and fresh take on bohemian whimsy.
The wedding was held at the family summer home on San Juan Island. We used butter yellow, coral, shades of pink, a titch of orange and natural hues of greens to make the wedding come to life. We incorporated kumquats on the branches, thornless blackberries and lemons into the design, along with vintage brass candlesticks, gauzy fabric, natural linens and wood tables. We topped off the design with cake from DERU and stationery from Libby Tipton. Despite the dark clouds and moments of pouring rain, the day was filled with laughter, excitement and joy. What more could anyone ask for?
Nancy from Oak and The Owl and Ashley from Tinge flew up to Seattle to assist me with this wedding, and for 3 days we worked on all of the flowers together. As I’ve said before, it takes a village to pull off some of these weddings, and I’m so thankful every time my friends fly in to be part of our team.
