This is definitely one of my top three favorite weddings I have ever been a part of. A grand staircase laced with autumn clematis… ruffly dresses tied with sashes… crowns made of flowers… towers of macarons… wedding cakes of all sizes… hand-painted walls…. beautiful chandeliers… endless amounts of lush garden roses… this is exactly the kind of fairytale wedding little girls dream about having someday.
Kerry and Mike are friend of ours; Jamie has been good friends with Kerry since sixth grade. This wedding was one of those rare occasions that we were also guests. It was a privilege to work with Kerry and Mike to design their dream wedding, but it was an even greater honor to watch as they committed their lives to each other.
It’s been four months, and this wedding still feels surreal. There was just something magical about it that I can’t quite express with words. Kerry radiated beauty, her style was flawless and her taste was impeccable. Mike was dapper, happy and emotional (all at the same time) and clearly in love with his beautiful bride.
I remember just pausing a moment to take it all in. Creating the details of this wedding took me several sleepless nights, but it was so worth it. People like Kerry and Mike, and the kind of love they share for each other are exactly why I love my job.

and a special thank you to Erin from Floret Flowers for growing so many of the flowers we used for this wedding, and for working all of those crazy hours with me to pump out the details of this wedding. I wouldn’t have been able to also be a guest at this wedding if I didn’t have your help that week! So thankful for you!
Just stunning!
Thanks Erin! Your help that week was pretty incredible. We make a great team.
What a DREAM wedding. This is all so gorgeous! <3
Thanks Emilia!
Brilliant. Gorgeous. Charming details. What reception venue is this?
Thanks Katie! This is at the Sunset Club on Capitol Hill in Seattle. It is a 100 year old private women’s club. Lot’s of pink walls and furniture!
Stunning! I love the Sunset Club!
Thanks Leslie! The Sunset Club is awesome! One of Seattle’s hidden gems.
You sure did the venue proud! Hope to see you and the lovely Mrs. out and about soon! xo L
Serious WOW. So gorgeous!
Thanks Kelly! That means a lot coming from someone who’s work is so spot on like yours is! Love following what you do!
Wow! I absolutely LOVE Kerry’s dress. So much frill and delicate lace. Also liked the look of the combination of head-dresses and bouquets for the bridesmaids. What signified who wore what?
Thanks Katie! Kerry’s Vera Wang dress was incredible… She was even more stunning in person! And the flower crowns… we actually made them for every girl, but most of them weren’t willing to wear them! It balanced out in the end though, and looked awesome!
It’s not a look you see nowadays, but it definitely worked here. Love the pic of Jamie you stuck in with all these, too 🙂
Thanks Katie! Had to sneak in a photo of Jamie! And the flower crowns- they are actually pretty trendy these days with weddings. A lot of girls are wearing them! Definitely a style from the past that is making a strong come back!
Just wanted to jump in and say I actually LOVED the look of not every girl wearing a floral crown…there was no significance, other than as Steve said, who wanted to wear one and who didn’t, but I gave each girl the choice. In the end I think it turned out beautifully, and I loved how each girl at least wore some flowers in their hair if they didn’t wear the crown. It was by far one of my most favorite elements of the wedding. Although it was a lot of work to make (thanks Steve!!) I think it turned out perfectly.
Kerry I’m so glad you decided to use the flower crowns, and I think it is really good that only a few girls wore them. Especially looking at the photos… it would have been a little crazy if every girl was wearing one. It really was the perfect balance- I’m glad you gave the girls a choice! I still can’t stop looking at all of your photos by the way 😉
Totally agree! At first we talked about each girl wearing one, and yes…looking at them now, it would have been way too much. Great last minute addition on your part!
I thought the clematis staircase was amazing (which it is), but those dessert table flowers are to die for! This is for sure one of my favorite weddings ever!
Thanks Ashlee! Can’t wait for our weddings together this summer! Going to be so fun to collaborate!
Incredible. But of course I’m not surprised. 🙂
Thanks Rachel! You are always so encouraging!
I can’t even handle the staircase garland. It’s what my dreams are made of! And truly–every piece of this wedding is incredible. Well done, Steve!
Thanks Stacy! I’ll have to tell you the garland story someday. It’s a miracle it turned out as well as it did. Let’s just say it was one of those flower wholesale product nightmares you dread happening, and then of course happens on your favorite event. It truly turned out so much better than I had ever hoped or imagined!
Beautiful wedding! What is the name of the band you used? I love their black&white bandstands! Thanks so much!
Hi Michaela – the band at this wedding was Jake Bergevin and the Javatown Swing Orchestra. They’re awesome! (http://www.jakebergevinmusic.com/jso.html)
