At Sinclair & Moore, we are passionate about designing memorable events and working with gorgeous flowers. Our greatest passion, however, is working with people.
We love encouraging people, listening to people’s hopes and dreams and then empowering them to find tangible ways to achieve those dreams by sharing over 10 years of experiences with them.
The passion and purpose behind the Sinclair & Moore workshop is to create a life changing retreat where people can learn in a safe environment, experiment with flowers, and discover capabilities they might not have realized they had.
When we started our workshops, we had no idea the positive response we would have. We held four workshops last year, and each one sold out with people from around the country. People came, not fully knowing what to expect, and they left changed. Many people came who had never worked with flowers before, but they left knowing how to create something beautiful. Others people who attended had been in the industry for years, and the left with a new vision and passion for their art. Some people came feeling hopeless, thinking it wasn’t possible to pursue their passion, and they left with a plan in place to get closer to where they want to be. People felt released to dream big and believe anything can be accomplished. People felt empowered. Everyone left with new life long friendships and a community of support. It was amazing.
For 2016 we are diversifying our course offerings. You will be able to choose from the following courses.
The Art of Floral Design
The Elements of Event Design
The Master Class
Below you will find a short summary of each course.
The Art of Floral Design– This is for the individual who wants to just focus on floral design, learning how to create beautiful arrangements. We will cover how to order and care for flowers in addition to teaching the mechanics behind how we build our signature lush and organic centerpieces, bouquets and arrangements. We will fill the studio with a sea of the freshest seasonal flowers that are available.
The Elements of Event Design– A beautifully designed event goes beyond a pretty flower centerpiece, and involves layers of textures and elements to make that event come to life. We will explore all of those elements and reveal the steps we take to design a cohesive event from start to finish. We will spend a large portion of our time getting our hands dirty creating our signature lush centerpieces and arrangements and then seeing how those fit into the big picture of an overall design scape.
Master Class – This is a perfect next step for workshop alumni or advanced professionals who want to dive deeper into the art of event design and have hands on experience helping with a real event. The studio will once again be filled to the brim with gorgeous blooms, and the arrangements we make will be used to create a beautiful dinner party and to decorate a real wedding, helping out a special couple.
*** All 3 types of workshops are action-filled and hands-on intensives. Each workshop will also include discussions on sourcing beautiful product, ribbons, fabrics, vases, supplies and other materials. Additionally, each workshop will also discuss business strategy and how to grow your business through branding, social media and published work so you can land your ideal client and increase your revenue. Every workshop will also be professionally photographed and attendees will be able to use the images for their own promotional and personal use.
